Employment Services.

As of 1 January 2025, the current state employment services will be transferred to municipalities. In the future, individual and business clients will receive help on job search and recruitment from municipal employment services instead of the TE Office. Although the reform is structurally extensive, from the client’s perspective, only the contact details will change. The Ostrobothnia Employment Area includes the municipalities of Kaskinen, Korsnäs, Laihia, Maalahti, Mustasaari, Närpiö, Uusikaarlepyy, Vaasa and Vöyri.

Client’s will be able to access employment services without an appointment also next year in Vaasa and Närpiö, where services will continue in the premises of the current TE Offices. In Vaasa, employment services will continue to serve clients at the state office building at Wolffintie 35, while in Närpiö, services will be available at the service point at Närpiöntie 4. The opening hours will be updated on the municipalities’ websites at the end of the year.

Starting from 1 January 2025, a prior appointment will be required to access services in person in Kaskinen, Korsnäs, Laihia, Maalahti, Mustasaari, Uusikaarlepyy, and Vöyri. Each municipality will have service points that operate by appointment, located in the municipalities’ own premises, such as town halls. Clients are advised to request an appointment through the Employment Services. Detailed addresses and contact information will be updated on the municipalities’ websites at the end of the year.

For example, residents of Uusikaarlepyy will still be able to use the services provided in Pietarsaari until the end of this year; starting next year, services will be available without an appointment in Vaasa, or by appointment at the Uusikaarlepyy town hall.

Phone numbers will be updated at the beginning of the year

The Ostrobothnia Employment Services’ phone service for individual and business clients will begin on 1 January 2025 with new phone numbers. The new service number for individual clients is 06 325 4400, and 06 325 4500 for business clients.

The direct work phone numbers and e-mail addresses of the staff will also change. The TE Office will inform its clients directly about the new contact details.

Efforts will be made to ensure that client’s will be able to retain the same contact persons, also known as case officials. However, a client’s case official may change if the official is assigned to a different employment area than the one the client remains in.
